Divine Unity and the Son’s Equality

The Son must be equal to the Father, Augustine reasons, because of the unity of God’s attributes, all of which are convertible with one another, and with the absolute simplicity of his being as such: so, to be the Power or the Wisdom of God is at once to be anything else that could be predicated of God, and so to be God simpliciter.
